Digital Publishing Services Manager

SUNY Geneseo, July 2015 – Present

  • Manage the editorial and production timelines of all accepted projects; 25 open textbooks, 4 original manuscripts, 2 digital projects to date, and 3 journals per year.
  • Design and compile production files of book & journal interiors and covers for all print and electronic publications.
  • Collaborate with event coordinators to design marketing materials for library events and initiatives, including digital signage, print posters, brochures, postcards, and social media posts.
  • Train and manage student employees to assist with publishing activities. 
  • Maintain a textbook catalog on the WordPress site milneopentextbooks.org, & archives and journals in bepress Digital Commons. 
  • Initiated a partnership with SUNY Press to collaborate on the publication and distribution of open textbooks.

  • Designed and typeset 33 reprints and 7 original manuscripts to showcase Milne Library’s Special Collections and local authors in PDF and ePub formats.
  • Coordinated the editorial and production timelines of 8 Open SUNY Textbooks.
  • Produced marketing materials to promote newly released books.
  • Oversaw student workers and interns.
  • Maintained two press websites utilizing Open Monograph Press.
  • Provided classroom instruction for Geneseo students and faculty in the areas of editorial practices, book production software, and e-book publishing.

  • Conducted research of library publishing projects and strategies.
  • Compiled and created resources for libraries interested in participating in publishing projects and services.
  • Served on the editorial committee for the edited volume, the Library Publishing Toolkit.

  • Coordinated the marketing and communications for the Library Publishing Toolkit project.
